GETTING STARTED & APP PRO TIPS
How do I access the My Epic app?
Download the My Epic app from the Apple App Store or Google Play App Store. If you have the EpicMix app on your phone, it will automatically update to the My Epic app. If you’ve previously created an Epic Account sign in with your credentials. If you do not have an existing account sign up for a new account or continue as a guest.
How do I log in to my account to activate my pass/lift ticket(s) on the My Epic app?
Once you have downloaded the app, you will be prompted to follow these instructions and activate your account and Mobile Pass or Lift Ticket:
- If you already have an epicpass.com account, sign in using your email. If you do not have an existing account, follow the steps to Create an Account.
- View your Mobile Pass or Lift Ticket(s) on the Home screen if you have a pass or lift ticket associated with your account.
- Activate Pass & Bluetooth – a popup will appear asking you to enable Bluetooth. Press "Allow."
Watch a How-to Video here.
How do I ensure my pass/lift ticket(s) is appropriately set up on the My Epic app, so I know I’m all set to ski/ride and won’t get stopped at the lift when loading?
Once you have logged in and activated Bluetooth, there will be a green check mark underneath your pass or lift ticket(s) on the home screen or Pass & Tickets screen. This check mark means that your pass or lift ticket(s) will scan appropriately in the lift line using Bluetooth technology. We encourage you to check your access each day by ensuring the green check mark is present.
Watch a How-to Video here.
Why aren't my pass/lift ticket(s) showing up in the My Epic app?
It could be because of one of three reasons:
- You are not signed into the right account in the app: To find out if this is the case, navigate to the "Pass and Ticket" tab and click on "Search for Account." Verify the name and DOB is correct, and type in the pass number or order confirmation number. The app will instruct you on how to sign-in to the correct account associated with the active pass/lift ticket, as needed.
- You have a pass or lift ticket that is not eligible for Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets: There are a few passes and lift ticket-types that will not be available on Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets this season. A few examples include: lift tickets purchased day-of at the ticket window and lift tickets purchased with a Ski and Ride School lesson.
- You have an Android phone and you have not enabled Location & Bluetooth permissions: When the My Epic app launches for the first time, you will be prompted to enable permissions to access the device’s location. Then when you select “Pass & Ticket” for the first time, you will be prompted to enable the “Nearby Devices” permission (i.e. Bluetooth®). If you decline either the location or “Nearby Devices” permission prompts, you will see an error message on the “Pass & Ticket” screen. To resolve, select the “Allow Bluetooth® Permissions” button, and you will be taken to the settings screen where you will need to allow both the Location and Bluetooth® permissions.
For assistance, please contact an Epic Pass expert through the chat feature on this website, or call (970) 754-0190.
How do I make sure the My Epic app will track my personalized ski/ride stats?
If you are using Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets in the My Epic app to track activity and record your ski/ride stats, you must enable GPS tracking when prompted during the login process. The app will not track activity automatically and requires active enablement of the tracking feature.
If you are using a physical pass or lift ticket card, your stats will automatically be tracked in the app and enabling GPS is not required.
How do I turn on GPS tracking for the day?
To track your stats for the day when using Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets, navigate to the tracking feature in the My Epic app and select "Start GPS Tracking." You will then be prompted to enable the My Epic app to use your location and to turn on GPS functionality.
If you are using a physical pass or lift ticket card, your stats will automatically be tracked in the app and enabling GPS is not required.
Should I turn GPS tracking off when not using the My Epic app?
Yes, you should turn off GPS tracking when you are not using the My Epic app to save the battery life on your phone.
Will GPS tracking work if I don’t have network or Wi-Fi signals on mountain?
Cellular service or Wi-Fi is not required to use GPS tracking.
Will Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets work if I don’t have network or Wi-Fi signals on mountain?

ON MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE
Will I need to take my phone out of my pocket to scan my Mobile Pass or Mobile Lift Ticket in the lift line next season?
No, you will not need to remove your phone from your pocket when accessing the lifts. The My Epic app’s Mobile Pass & Lift Ticket technology will allow guests to activate their pass or lift ticket(s) directly on their phone, put their phone in their pocket, and get scanned, hands free, using specific Bluetooth® technology designed for low energy usage.
Does the My Epic app need to be open on my phone in order for my pass/lift ticket(s) to work?
Each guest will need to log in to the app and complete the prompted setup instructions, before their first Mobile Pass or Lift Ticket(s) can scan at a lift. Afterward, the app can be minimized and will function in the background on your phone.
Keep in mind, if you completely close out the app (i.e. fully shut down the app), you’ll need to re-open the app and ensure you see the green check mark for Mobile Pass & Lift Ticket to scan at a lift.
Can my phone scan the passes/lift tickets for my entire family (e.g., children)?
No, each individual will need to have their own pass or lift ticket, using either Mobile Pass, Mobile Lift Ticket, or a physical pass or lift ticket card to access the mountain. Children 13 and younger are eligible to use Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets with parent/guardian permission. To set up an account for a child, parents/guardians should open their personal My Epic app, click into their Account (icon on top right of screen), select “Setup Child Account,” then follow the prompts. Alternatively, children can use a physical pass or lift ticket card to access the mountain.
All passes and lift tickets associated with your email account that you purchased for other guests will be able to be sent via text or email to other guests for their use once they download the My Epic app and set up accounts.
If I (or someone I’m skiing with, e.g., friends or children) don’t use a smartphone, what are other options for lift access for them?
For any guest who does not use a smartphone or chooses to not utilize Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets, guests will still be able to use their physical pass & lift ticket cards to access the mountain.
Should I carry my physical pass or lift ticket card with me in addition to my Mobile Pass or Lift Ticket on the My Epic App?
It is recommended that you carry either your physical pass/lift ticket card OR your Mobile Pass/Lift Ticket (one or the other). If you carry both, whichever is scanned first each day will be the active lift access type for the day.
What if I can’t access the My Epic app, what do I do?
If your My Epic App loses functionality, each resort can print you a physical pass or lift ticket card at the base area ticket office to allow you to gain lift access for the day.
What if I don't want to use Mobile Pass / Can I still use a physical pass?
Physical passes still work at our resorts. You may still get a physical Pass either when you purchase for next season upon checkout/completing your purchase, or in-resort at any of our guest service/ticket office locations.
What should I do if my phone runs out of battery?
Keep in mind that the Bluetooth® technology used in the My Epic app is designed for low energy usage. That being said, we have added free charging stations in many resorts in convenient locations. You can find phone charging stations at select resorts’ base areas or in high traffic dining areas on-mountain. Locate these charging stations by visiting a resort map and looking for the charging station icon. Many retail locations will also be selling cords and chargers for your convenience. Guests are also welcome to visit our ticket windows to get a physical card printed.
Where can I go in-resort for My Epic app support?
Our ticket agents and scanning staff will be able to help enable your Mobile Pass or Lift Ticket. You can also look for a Mobile Pass & Lift Ticket flag in the base area for My Epic app support.
Can I use Mobile Pass & Lift Tickets when I purchase a Ski and Ride School lesson?

How can I find out if lift tickets will be available for the day I am planning to visit?
Lift ticket availability is visible on resort websites’ winter lift ticket pages. If lift tickets are sold out on a specific day at a specific resort, that day will show as unavailable. If lift tickets are sold out on your desired day, secure your lift access with an Epic Day Pass and save up to 65% off lift tickets depending on the level of resort access you chose to purchase. Epic Day Pass can be purchased at EpicPass.com until passes go off sale for the season.
If lift tickets are sold out online for a specific day at a specific resort, can I purchase one at the ticket window?
No, if a specific day at a specific resort sells out online, lift tickets will not be sold at resort ticket windows unless purchased with a Pass Holder benefit ticket (Buddy tickets or Ski With A Friend tickets) or through ski and ride school. Availability will be updated online if there are any lift ticket cancellations.
If I am booking a lodging reservation during this time, am I guaranteed lift access?
No, lodging reservations do not provide any guarantee of lift access. Guests are encouraged to purchase lift access as soon as possible, either through a pass (including an Epic Day Pass) for the best value – or by purchasing a lift ticket in advance. You should not wait until you are at the resort. If you already have a pass, there are no restrictions outside of any restricted peak dates associated with your pass.
Will there be restrictions on Pass Holder benefit tickets during these weeks?
No, Pass Holders’ benefit tickets, such as Buddy Tickets and Ski with a Friend Tickets, will not be impacted by lift ticket availability.
How do I redeem Buddy Tickets and Ski with a Friend Tickets if lift tickets are sold out online?
Buddy Tickets and Ski With A Friend Tickets will be available for purchase online and in-person at the window this season. However, we highly encourage individuals to purchase online. Once purchased, Buddy Tickets and Ski With A Friend Tickets must be picked up by the Pass Holder at the resort by displaying their pass. To purchase Buddy Tickets or Ski With A Friend Tickets online, a Pass Holder must sign into “My Epic Account” at Epicpass.com, click on the “passes” tab, and navigate to the “benefit tickets” section. You can select the specific day and resort for use after you click on “Buy for a Buddy” or “Buy For a Friend”.
Will there be restrictions on Ski & Ride school lift access?
No, the ability to purchase lift access with a Ski & Ride School lesson will not be limited. Book a lesson in advance and add a discounted lift ticket at checkout!
What product should I purchase to secure lift access this season?
It is strongly recommended that you purchase your lift access in advance online for the 2023/2024 Season. If lift tickets are sold out online, guests will not be able to buy them at ticket windows unless purchased with a Pass Holder benefit ticket or through ski and ride school.
Another option is Epic Day Pass, while it is still on sale, which provides the best value for guests planning to visit 1 to 7 days this season. Epic Day Pass offers savings of up to 65% off lift ticket window prices and is customizable with three levels of resort access and a choice to include peak days access or not. The price per day decreases as more days are purchased. Epic Day Passes are non-refundable, except as provided in Epic Coverage. With an Epic Day Pass, you can lock in the number of days you want to visit and decide later when and where to go – without concern of a day selling out.
Are Pass Holders impacted by lift ticket limitations? Will there be added restricted days for Pass Holders?
No, passes will not be restricted beyond any restricted peak dates associated with a specific pass. This is a limit on lift ticket sales to prioritize Pass Holders’ mountain experience.
Are Epic Day Passes impacted by this lift ticket limitation?
No, there will be no restrictions on Epic Day Passes or any other pass product beyond any restricted dates associated with the specific pass you purchase.
As a Pass Holder, will I still be able to use the lift ticket discounts on my pass during restricted peak days or after I have used all days on my Epic Day Pass?
Yes, Pass Holders with restricted peak dates can still use their discounts to purchase lift tickets on peak dates without limitations. Pass Holders who have utilized all of their purchased Epic Day Pass days will also still be eligible to purchase additional discounted days without any limitations.
As a Pass Holder, do I need to make a reservation on days I plan to ski or ride this season?
No, we do not have a Pass Holder reservation system this season. If you have a pass product, you are good to go for the dates associated with your pass! Be sure to check mountain access and restricted peak dates before making your plans to ski or ride.

Can I purchase a lift ticket for the same day I want to ski or ride?

Please see Epic Coverage Terms and Conditions for full details.
How is my Epic Coverage refund determined?
Epic Coverage provides refunds for certain resort closures that occur during the Core Season (December 7 through April 17) due to disease, war, terrorism, and covered natural disasters. If a Qualifying Resort Closure occurs, refund eligibility and amount will vary based on the type of Pass your purchase, your Epic Coverage elections, and the number of days you use your Pass.
If a Qualifying Personal Event prevents you from being able to use your pass, you may be eligible for a refund. Your refund eligibility and amount will vary based on the type of Pass you purchase, your Epic Coverage elections, and the number of days you use your Pass.
The use of your Pass at Partner Resorts or outside of the Core Season, including early season use of EDGE Cards (or other products with similar offerings), will count towards the number of days you have used your Pass for purposes of determining the amount of any refund for which you may be eligible.
Please see the Epic Coverage Terms & Conditions for terms and limitations on refund coverage, as well as details on refund eligibility and amounts.
How do I follow up on the status of a pending refund request?
Please call 1-877-895-1297 and reference your existing refund request number to follow up on a pending refund request.
I purchased multiple Passes and received an Epic Coverage refund under one of the Passes. What happens next?
The Pass for which you received the refund will cease to be valid and you will no longer be able to use the Pass to access any resorts or receive any other ancillary Pass benefits for the remainder of the ski and ride season. The other Passes will remain active.
Please note, guests who purchased multiple Passes and received a refund under one of the Passes will notice their Epic Coverage elections for all other Passes reverted to the default "Core Season" and "All Resorts" elections, even if the guest made specific Epic Coverage elections. You are able to update or change your elections for all valid Passes until the Epic Coverage election deadline.
Please see Epic Coverage Terms and Conditions for full details.
